Are you passionate about technology and developing software and want to join one of the fastest-growing sports and health technology companies in the world? Then we would love to hear from you.

We are looking for a Senior iOS Developer to join our growing Engineering team.

Our multidisciplinary Product team is split into two functions, Product Strategy and Engineering. The team comprises full stack Software Engineers, Product Owners, Mobile Engineers, Quality Assurance Engineers, UX/UI Designers, and a whole Product strategy team.

VALD’s tech stack includes C#, .NET Core, Azure, Service Bus, SQL, NoSQL, Typescript, React, Mobx, Jenkins and Octopus. For our mobile apps, most of them are written natively in Swift for iOS and there are some Xamarin.Native apps targeting both iOS and Android.

Is this you?

We are looking for a creative problem solver with a ‘can do’ attitude; you're a lifelong learner and take the time to help and educate your teammates - someone who loves what they do.

  • Along with solid general software engineering principles, you have a strong technical understanding of Swift and the iOS platform.
  • You have architected, built, and maintained scalable and performant code while delivering amazing experiences to end users.
  • 5+ years of experience developing native iOS apps with Swift.
  • Experience with various design patterns (MVC, MVVM, VIPER) and the value it brings to writing scalable software.
  • Appreciation for automated testing (and also writing them - we use XCTest for unit tests).
  • Experience setting up and maintaining robust CI/CD pipelines (we primarily use AppCenter but have just started trialling XCode Cloud).
  • Ability to take ownership and drive high-level architecture design to write scalable software.
  • Ability and willingness to teach and mentor other team members.
  • You have excellent communication skills and can work effectively in a team environment.
  • You can identify and rectify the source of problems.
  • A keen eye for detail.

We’d also love it if you had (nice to haves):

  • Experience with CoreBluetooth.
  • Experience with Reactive programming paradigms (RxSwift, ReactiveSwift or Combine).

It’s not expected that any single candidate would check every box here. Research shows that while men and women share similarities in how they look for jobs, women may hold back if they don’t meet 100% of the criteria, while men usually apply after meeting about 60%.

We strongly encourage you to apply if you’re at all interested. Show us how your experience could improve our team and widen our perspective. Our selection process includes assessing the requirements of the role vs the individual and how well we think they will work in the VALD team.
